Ok, so to start things off. After Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric failed, we can all agree that SEGA went in damage controll, So they started reorganizing the Sonic Pilar and cutting costs during the Forces development (https://www.mcvuk.com/sonic-team-head-returns-to-us-to-establish-development-hub-for-franchise/ ).
After Sonic Forces, another big change happend..Sonic Team has been disolved! (https://www.resetera.com/threads/an-overview-of-the-current-developers-in-sega-japan.17290/page-2#post-16019052) I dont know much about the exact details, but Sonic Team has been disappeared, while a new name appeared, Sonic Studio! During Ivo's Sonic Movie AMA he refered to himself as the brand chief of Sonic Studio! (https://old.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/go02cw/im_ivo_gerscovich_chief_brand_officer_for_sonic/?) yet this name hasnt appeared anywhere else besides the fangame, so this company is a mystery even to Sonic Retro! I believe this may be the developers hub they were preparing during Forces!
Sonic also has been moved to the western side of SEGA, SEGA of America specificly, atleast from what I have heard from others on Twitter and people in the thread confirming Sonic Team had been dissolved. Which means SEGA of Japan, the entity usually sabotizing Sonic, has been cut out. SEGA of America has grown alot and taken more controll over stuff.. The Sonic Social team also comfirmed in an very overlooked Sonic Livestream that COVID got in the way of the SXSW announcement and because all film production studios near the company closed down because of it, they had to delay the announcement indefinitly!
Anyways, that concludes my research on the reorganization of the Sonic pilar, there might have been more but I lost interest after they comfirmed Sonic Boom was done for in the reddit AMA..
